Say hello to my new favourite colour (and jacket). Blue, once a colour only worn in the form of denim is now the life and soul of my wardrobe. (See Instagram) I'm embracing all shades of blue lately, and this deep indigo is my latest obsession.
I've always been a long line jacket kind of girl partly due to assuming cropped jackets don't suit my 5'3" frame, but with the weather finally warming up I've realised there has been a large gaping hole in my go-to's for when it's too hot for a long coat or jumper. Since Dean nabbed this Armor Lux fisherman jacket, the perfect summer cover up, I've been extremely jealous and secretly searching for a ladies alternative. (He claims I'm always copying his style.)
Enter the Krasner jacket by Caron Callahan; a Brooklyn-based designer making brilliantly functional clothes for the modern woman. The Krasner jacket is boxy, relaxed, and I don't know how I lived without it. Seriously, though, I can't remember how I dressed before owning this jacket! (Fun fact: The jacket is named after modernist painter Lee Krasner.)
I was fortuitous enough to find the jacket on Garmentory during their Memorial Day sale (thanks for that America) with 30% off. If you're not familiar with Garmentory, they essentially do all the hard work for you by curating the best contemporary and emerging fashion all in one place. The majority of designers on the site are situated in the U.S but don't let that put you off, Garmentory offers an international shipping flat fee of $20 (bargain!)
The site features an abundance of dreamy designs and browsing can become dangerously addictive. You have been warned!
