Jackson Lees, a prominent law firm based in Liverpool and Wirral, has announced the appointment of Sarah McCarthy as a chartered legal executive in its family law team. With over 20 years of experience in the field, McCarthy joins the firm from Hill Dickinson, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the practice.
In recognition of her exceptional work, Sarah was named Family Law Chartered Legal Executive of the Year at the Family Law Awards in 2021. Her extensive experience includes serving on the Liverpool Law Society’s family law sub-committee since 2011, where she has played a key role in organising the society’s private child conference and family finance conference alongside director Jo Downey.
Jackson Lees is part of the Jackson Lees Group, which also encompasses Broudie Jackson Canter and Farrington Law. The group provides comprehensive advice on a variety of family law matters, including divorce proceedings, financial remedy issues, pre and postnuptial agreements, and child arrangements.
Sarah’s appointment aligns with Jackson Lees’ ongoing expansion strategy. She joins a wave of recent recruits to the firm, including four new members in the court of protection team, among them Oliver Banks and Claire Martini, who will serve as head and deputy head of the team, respectively.
Haley Farrell, deputy managing director and head of family law at Jackson Lees Group, expressed her enthusiasm about McCarthy’s addition to the team. “With her vast experience in family law and her passion for helping others and making a positive difference, Sarah is a tremendous addition to our expanding team. We are delighted she has joined us as we develop the practice with our focus on growth and providing exceptional client care across Merseyside and the North West.”
In her own words, Sarah stated, “I like that I act as a confidant for clients within my work, as it allows me to show the empathy they deserve when dealing with sensitive matters. I am excited to put this into practice and lend my support to clients and the family team at Jackson Lees.”
The Jackson Lees Group is a member of the MAPD Group, which was established in 2020 by Brian Cullen and Joanna Kingston-Davies. The group aims to drive the growth of local law firms nationally through acquisition, with the initials MAPD signifying “Making a Positive Difference.”
As Jackson Lees continues to strengthen its family law department, the firm is poised to enhance its services and client support, ensuring that clients receive the highest standard of legal care in their family-related matters.
