Leading legal professionals from across the world are set to converge in Birmingham this month for the prestigious Eurojuris International Congress, which will bring together top independent law firms. The event, running from 10 to 13 October, will be hosted by FBC Manby Bowdler, a prominent Midlands law firm, in collaboration with VWV.
The conference is expected to attract more than 600 legal experts from over 50 countries, marking a significant event for the region. Discussions will focus on the theme “Industrial Strength and Golden Ambition: Embracing Change in Birmingham”, exploring the Midlands’ economic ambitions and the role of legal frameworks in fostering regional growth.
The event is set against the backdrop of the West Midlands’ drive for economic transformation, bolstered by its new industrial strategy. Birmingham’s efforts to reassert itself as a national powerhouse will be a central point of focus during the congress, highlighting the city’s relevance on the global stage.
Charlotte Clode, Partner at FBC Manby Bowdler and a board member of Eurojuris, expressed her excitement about the event, describing it as a significant achievement for the region.
“We’re delighted to bring such a distinguished group of legal professionals to Birmingham this year,” said Clode. “The region’s ambitions for transformation, under a new West Midlands Mayor and with a fresh Industrial Strategy, align perfectly with the theme of the congress.”
She also highlighted the value of the Eurojuris network in delivering expert legal representation across the globe, noting that the relationships forged during the event would benefit clients needing specialised legal support internationally.
“This event strengthens our ability to serve clients globally. Being able to deliver local representation anywhere in the world through a network of top legal professionals is a great advantage for our clients,” Clode added.
The Hyatt Regency Hotel will serve as the venue for the conference, with a range of expert-led discussions, practice group sessions, and networking opportunities planned throughout the week. Participants will also enjoy a gala dinner and tours of key regional attractions, including the Black Country Living Museum.
The decision to host the congress in Birmingham is being seen as a major coup for the city and the wider Midlands region, allowing it to showcase its industrial heritage and legal influence on the international stage.
FBC Manby Bowdler’s connection to Eurojuris has grown stronger in recent years, following Charlotte Clode’s appointment to the network’s Board of Directors last year. Clode, who was named Modern Law Awards Lawyer of the Year in 2020, plays a key role in Eurojuris, focusing on communications and social media strategy. She has been instrumental in securing Birmingham as the location for this year’s conference.
“Bringing the Eurojuris International Congress to the UK is a major achievement for our firm,” said Clode. “It’s a great opportunity for us to highlight what this region has to offer and deepen relationships with leading legal professionals from around the world.”
