Damm, the iconic Spanish beer company based in Barcelona, has announced the appointment of Luke White as the new Managing Director of Damm UK. This significant addition to the leadership team aims to enhance the company’s long-term presence in the competitive UK market and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth.
Luke White brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having spent a successful decade at Budweiser Brewing Group, the UK arm of AB InBev. During his time there, he held various operational and strategic positions, excelling in leading high-performing teams and managing complex projects. His extensive track record positions him as a transformative leader, well-equipped to guide Damm UK through its next chapter of expansion and innovation.
Juan Gonzalez, Damm’s International Business Director, expressed confidence in Luke’s ability to drive the company forward. “Damm is confident that Luke’s leadership and deep knowledge of the UK beer industry will bring significant value to our operations and support our strategic objectives and vision in the UK,” he said. Damm has been brewing since 1876, founded by Alsatian brewing master August Kuentzmann Damm. The company is primarily involved in the production, bottling, and distribution of beer, along with other beverages, including water, soft drinks, and milk. Today, Damm operates 17 production plants in the Iberian Peninsula, with one located in Bedford, UK. The company is present in over 130 countries and boasts an impressive production capacity, packaging more than 21 million hectolitres of beverages annually.
In 2023, Damm reported a turnover of €2.061 billion and employed a total workforce of 5,765 people at the end of the year. The company is well-known for its flagship brand, Estrella Damm, and offers a diverse portfolio that includes Free Damm, Damm Lemon, Victoria Malaga, Rosa Blanca, and Complot.
