- Cutting-edge RGBW system redefines architectural lighting
- Launch planned for Eid Al Etihad celebrations
Emaar Properties has introduced a cutting-edge façade lighting system for the Burj Khalifa, bringing a fresh vibrancy to the world’s tallest building. The advanced RGBW lighting system, which integrates state-of-the-art technology with architectural elegance, will make its grand debut on 1 December 2024 during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations. This transformation comes as the Burj Khalifa approaches its 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.
The new system features a vivid spectrum of colours and dynamic effects, enhancing the building’s iconic status and further establishing Dubai as a leader in innovative design and technology.
After six months of rigorous testing, the RGBW technology was implemented to replace the previous static lighting. The new system introduces addressable, colour-changing fixtures capable of crafting intricate displays for routine use as well as special celebrations. These visual enhancements integrate harmoniously with Burj Khalifa’s media façade while maintaining its elegant design.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, commented: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
The upgrade sets a new benchmark for architectural lighting, blending technology and creativity to inspire future innovations around the world.
