A new collaboration between two family-run businesses is bringing luxury living to Macclesfield, with the completion of a £1 million property at the King’s Gate development. Heritage developer PJ Livesey, renowned for its expertise in restoring historic buildings, has teamed up with Arighi Bianchi, a prestigious interior retailer, to create a stunning show home that showcases both craftsmanship and elegance.
PJ Livesey, with over four decades of experience in developing bespoke luxury properties, is responsible for restoring the former King’s School in Macclesfield, turning it into an exclusive collection of homes. The company is known for combining innovative, low-carbon new builds with the restoration of heritage properties. One of the standout features of their current project is ‘The Alexander’, a £1 million luxury conversion located in the heart of Macclesfield.
Arighi Bianchi, an interior design destination that has been a fixture of Macclesfield since 1854, was selected by PJ Livesey to dress the rooms of The Alexander. Known for its wide selection of high-end furniture and exceptional customer service, Arighi Bianchi brought a touch of glamour to the property by furnishing the show home with signature pieces, transforming it into a showcase of luxury living.
Kathryn Mitchelhill, head of interior design at PJ Livesey, spoke about the collaboration, saying: “We wanted to do something completely different with The Alexander. The upper floor, in particular, lends itself to boutique-style living, and we aimed to create a ‘wow’ factor as visitors ascended the staircase into the space. Arighi Bianchi was top of our list, not only because of our shared values, but also because they are local to King’s Gate. The furniture and set pieces are just breathtaking.”
Nick Bianchi, from Arighi Bianchi, also expressed his excitement about the project. “It’s been an absolute pleasure to collaborate with PJ Livesey on this stunning show home project. The finished property beautifully highlights the breadth of our product collections, from contemporary sofas to exquisite lighting. The interior styling truly transforms the house into a home, and we hope visitors are as inspired as we were during the process.”
This week, new images of The Alexander were released, showcasing its transformation into a luxurious four-bedroom home. The developers are also hosting an exclusive champagne reception and preview event on Saturday, February 1st, offering guests an exclusive tour of the property. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the quirky winter garden and spacious first-floor living areas, all while enjoying bubbles and treats from local bakery, café, and bar, All Things Nice.
To mark the occasion, all guests will be entered into a competition to win a VIP shopping experience at Arighi Bianchi, including a personal shopping session, lunch at Café AB, and a £500 voucher to spend in-store.
Georgina Lynch, managing director of PJ Livesey, shared her pride in the partnership: “This is a wonderful collaboration. As two well-established local family businesses, coming together on this £1 million project felt like a perfect match from the beginning. A huge thanks to everyone who helped make this happen.”
The Alexander is part of the King’s Gate development, which includes 81 luxury homes. The Grade II listed Main School building is also being restored into 36 elegant homes, with completion expected next year. The West Gate homes, which are eco-friendly mews-style properties, have also recently been revealed.
