Ansible Motion, a leading provider of advanced driving simulator technology, is set to become the first tenant at the new Innovation Park developed by MotorSport Vision at Snetterton, Norfolk. This strategic move marks a significant expansion for the company, doubling its existing facility footprint as it relocates from Hethel, where it has been based since 2009.
Renowned for its Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulation environments, Ansible Motion serves a global clientele that includes top automotive manufacturers such as Ford, Honda, BMW Group, General Motors, and Continental, as well as elite motorsport teams and research organisations. The new facility, located adjacent to the renowned Snetterton Circuit, will allow the company to enhance its operations and drive further growth in the burgeoning field of automotive simulation technology.
Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of MotorSport Vision, expressed enthusiasm about the arrival of Ansible Motion. “This is a very exciting time for Snetterton,” he said. “Welcoming Ansible Motion and advancing our wider development plans is a real boost to the local economy. This development will breathe new life into the circuit and attract new race teams, motorsport businesses, and advanced engineering firms to the area. We aim to create an exceptional high-quality estate that will draw in innovative and growing businesses, and Ansible Motion is precisely the type of company we want to partner with.”
Dan Clark, Managing Director of Ansible Motion, highlighted the strategic significance of the relocation. “Our company has a strong motorsport heritage and we continue to collaborate with several professional teams across various racing categories, including Formula 1, World Rally Championship, World Endurance Championship, IndyCar, and Off-Road racing,” he stated. “Relocating to a simulation centre adjacent to Snetterton Circuit—one of the UK’s premier racetracks—aligns perfectly with our business objectives.”
The expansion will allow Ansible Motion to consolidate all of its research and development, design, and manufacturing operations under one roof. Currently employing 55 staff, the company plans to increase its workforce to approximately 90 employees over the next three years, bolstered by the move to the new facility.
MotorSport Vision, which operates Europe’s largest motor racing circuit and owns Snetterton Circuit, has grand plans for the Innovation Park. The development will encompass 30,000 square metres of commercial office space, industrial units, and motorsport workshops within the 13-hectare site. Additionally, the park will feature a hotel with a café and electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities, further enhancing its appeal as a technology and innovation hub in Norfolk.
The establishment of Ansible Motion’s new simulation centre is expected to foster collaboration and innovation in the automotive and motorsport sectors, driving economic growth in the region. As the first tenant at Snetterton Innovation Park, Ansible Motion’s arrival sets a promising precedent for future developments within this burgeoning technology ecosystem.
