Bradford College has been honoured with a prestigious national award, recognising its outstanding contribution to the education and development of pharmacy technicians across the UK.
The college’s Pharmacy team was awarded the ‘Excellence in Education & Development Award’ at The Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) Annual Pharmacy Awards, held recently at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nottingham. The event, which brought together key figures from the pharmacy sector, celebrates excellence in the pharmacy technician profession.
The Bradford College Pharmacy team was one of three finalists shortlisted in the education category, which recognises the significant impact made by individuals, teams, or projects in training and educating pharmacy professionals. The win highlights the college’s dedication to fostering high standards of education and the development of future pharmacy technicians.
Zoe Corcoran, Head of the School of Pharmacy at Bradford College, expressed the team’s delight at the recognition. “Winning this award and the recognition of our hard work means a great deal to the team. We are humbled by the acknowledgment of our efforts. The team works together to transform lives through education and training, helping create a better future for all. We continue to strive for excellence and make meaningful contributions to the field of pharmacy,” she said.
The award is a testament to the college’s long-standing reputation for excellence in pharmacy education. Bradford College is the largest further education provider for pharmacy training in the country, with a strong focus on online and eLearning courses. The department boasts a 100% pass rate and is known for its high standards in both classroom learning and practical training.
Bradford College’s pharmacy courses are designed to equip students with the technical skills and knowledge needed to excel in the pharmacy sector. Students benefit from learning directly from industry professionals, gaining valuable insights that pave the way for further education and careers in the field. The college offers a range of courses for pharmacy professionals, school leavers, and industry workers seeking continuing professional development (CPD).
As part of the award, the Bradford College Pharmacy team received an engraved trophy, an educational bursary for attending the APTUK Annual Conference 2025, and was featured on the front cover of the APTUK Autumn Journal. The recognition also highlights the college’s commitment to advancing pharmacy education and ensuring that students are prepared for the demands of the sector.
Looking ahead, Bradford College continues to support the development of pharmacy technicians with its broad range of courses and training opportunities. The college’s next open event, taking place in February, will provide prospective students with the chance to learn more about the wide range of courses available in pharmacy and health sciences.
