The 29th China International Furniture Expo (Furniture China 2024) has successfully concluded after four days of extensive networking and collaboration at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The event, which ran from September 10 to 13, reaffirmed its status as a leading global platform for the furniture industry, attracting both international and domestic companies, buyers, designers, and professionals from related sectors.
This year’s expo featured over 3,000 exhibitors, representing a diverse range of sectors from furniture manufacturing to home design and material supply. Participants hailed from 25 countries and regions, showcasing the international reach of Furniture China. According to the Post Show Report, the event welcomed a total of 167,250 visitors, including 28,644 overseas buyers—a remarkable 11.9% increase from the previous year. This growth underscores the expo’s expanding influence on global trade within the furniture industry.
Simultaneously, the Maison Shanghai 2024 event took place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center (SWEECC), displaying an extensive array of interior designs, home décor, and lifestyle solutions. This concurrent exhibition has become a vital attraction for designers, retailers, and home furnishing enthusiasts from around the world. Together, both events created a comprehensive platform for the exchange of ideas and emerging trends in the furniture and home furnishing sectors.
Key events, such as the Global Buyers’ Night, Middle East Buyers’ Night, and the Anji Industrial Cluster Promotion Event, garnered significant attention from industry leaders and buyers alike. These gatherings fostered important discussions about new opportunities for the future of the industry. Additionally, the digital platform DTS, with its newly launched app, recorded impressive engagement, with over 23,000 active users and more than 386,000 interactions since its debut in July.
The expo served not only as a showcase for the latest product innovations but also as a venue for forums and workshops aimed at advancing industry development. Over 40 onsite events featured more than 200 speakers, industry experts, designers, and key opinion leaders (KOLs), who shared insights on a wide range of furniture-related topics. Exhibitors expressed high levels of satisfaction with the quality of buyers attending, with many reporting new business connections and ongoing partnerships established during the expo. Follow-up orders are expected to exceed previous growth levels.
Furniture China 2024 effectively highlighted the latest trends and developments in the global home furnishing industry, revitalising the sector through its innovative hybrid model that combines online and offline experiences. Organisers are already looking forward to the next edition of the expo, scheduled to take place from September 10 to 13, 2025, in Shanghai (Pudong). This upcoming event promises to continue generating further opportunities and successes for the global furniture market, solidifying Furniture China’s position as a pivotal event in the industry calendar.
