James Hardie Launches ‘Toolbox Talks’ Service for Builders and Homeowners
James Hardie, a prominent global manufacturer of high-performance fibre cement and fibre gypsum building solutions, has unveiled a new initiative aimed at providing builders and homeowners with vital installation knowledge. The newly launched service, titled ‘Toolbox Talks’, is designed to enhance understanding and improve the installation processes of its diverse product portfolio.
As part of this initiative, James Hardie has appointed two Technical Support Specialists, Mitchell Pearson and Andrew Coote, who will deliver expert training and support across different regions of the UK. Mitchell Pearson will serve clients in the South West and South East. He joins James Hardie from Persimmon Homes, where he gained valuable experience as a Site Manager. His background in project management and construction equips him to address the specific needs of builders and homeowners effectively.
Andrew Coote will focus on clients in the Midlands, North of England, and Scotland. Having worked at James Hardie as a Channel Manager for two years, Andrew possesses an in-depth knowledge of the company’s full product range. His previous experience as an installer of James Hardie products gives him a unique perspective on potential challenges that may arise on-site, enabling him to offer practical solutions.
The ‘Toolbox Talks’ service encompasses comprehensive pre-installation training sessions tailored to each project. Before on-site work begins, a pre-project meeting will be held with builders or developers to ensure that architectural drawings and product specifications are aligned. This proactive approach aims to prevent any costly downtime during the construction process.
Once the project is underway, regular site visits will be conducted to carry out audits, ensuring that all products are installed correctly and in accordance with best practices. This level of oversight is designed to provide builders and homeowners with confidence in the installation process and the quality of the final result.
Simon Buckmaster, Technical and Sales Service Manager at James Hardie, highlighted the importance of this new service in enhancing customer support. He stated, “Our new service will elevate the James Hardie offering even further, providing our clients with wraparound support throughout the duration of their project. Having Andy and Mitchell on board means that any questions or concerns can be dealt with early, ensuring that installation is a smooth and stress-free process.”
The introduction of the ‘Toolbox Talks’ service reflects James Hardie’s commitment to improving customer experience and satisfaction. By equipping builders and homeowners with the knowledge and resources they need, the company aims to foster a culture of excellence in installation practices.
As the construction industry continues to evolve, James Hardie’s proactive approach to training and support positions it as a leader in the field. The ‘Toolbox Talks’ initiative promises to streamline the installation process, mitigate potential issues, and ultimately contribute to the successful completion of construction projects across the UK. This move is expected to resonate well with both seasoned professionals and those new to the industry, enhancing the overall quality and reliability of building practices in the region.
